The struggling Oprah Winfrey Network is getting another new boss: CEO Christina Norman is out after two years, and just four months after the cable channel launched on Jan. 1, following what co-owner Discovery Networks chief David Zaslav termed disappointing early ratings.
Peter Liguori, Discovery's chief operating officer, will act as interim CEO while searching for Norman's replacement.
In a statement, the network said the change "reflects a transition from a launch phase to a more long-term focus on business and creative strategy."
Winfrey will devote more time to the network after her syndicated show ends its 25-year run later this month.
